Two hand-carved wooden dolphins captured mid-arc, the curve of their bodies suggesting the moment of breach above water — that brief weightlessness before the dive back in. The carving is worked from a single piece, the smooth flow of muscle and tail rendered in continuous polished form, with the parasite wood base grounding the leap in rough, organic counterweight.
The base is raw parasite wood — known as jempinis or jempinis batu in Indonesia — which comes from trees that have been overgrown by parasitic vines, and the resulting timber carries the distinctive twisting grain, hollowed sections, and organic textures of that growth process. Because each base is shaped by the wood's own history, no two pieces are alike. The carving you see in the photograph is the carving you receive.
Dolphins occupy a particular cultural space — across maritime traditions from the Greek and Roman to the Maori and Pacific Islander — as symbols of joy, intelligence, communication, and benign companionship. They are among the few wild animals consistently associated with playfulness, and a carving like this carries some of that lightness with it.
The piece reads especially well in coastal, nautical, or naturally-inspired interiors, but it works just as comfortably on a writing desk, a study shelf, a mantelpiece, or a side table in any space that wants a small focal piece with movement and character.
Hand-carved by Indonesian artisans. Compact in scale and well-suited to shelves, desks, and small display areas. Small variations in finish, grain, and base form are part of what you receive.

Sacred Tool Care
Sacred Tool Care
To keep your spiritual tools in optimal condition, cleanse crystals regularly using running water (avoid for water-soluble stones like selenite), salt water soaks, burying in salt or earth, or smudging with sage or palo santo smoke. Condition leather items occasionally with natural leather cream to prevent cracking, and store away from direct sunlight and moisture. Clean singing bowls with a soft cloth or mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals, and store on padded surfaces to protect their resonance. Handle all your sacred tools with care and respect to maintain their quality and spiritual effectiveness.
