A statement carving of four hand-carved wooden mushrooms rising at varying heights from a shared base of raw parasite wood — the kind of piece that anchors a shelf or sideboard with sculptural presence rather than sitting quietly in the background. The variation in stem length and cap size gives the composition real movement and depth, drawing the eye upward through the cluster much as it would be through a small stand of fungi in woodland.

The base is raw parasite wood — known as jempinis or jempinis batu in Indonesia — which comes from trees that have been overgrown by parasitic vines, and the resulting timber carries the distinctive twisting grain, hollowed sections, and organic textures of that growth process. Because each base is shaped by the wood's own history, no two pieces are alike. The carving you see in the photograph is the carving you receive.

Mushrooms occupy unusual cultural ground. Across European folklore they belong to fairy rings and the in-between places of woodland; in Chinese tradition the lingzhi mushroom symbolises longevity and spiritual power; among foragers, mycologists, and naturalists they represent the patient, hidden architecture of forest life. In contemporary interior design, the mushroom has quietly become one of the defining motifs of cottagecore and woodland-inspired interiors — but at this scale, the piece functions less as a small decorative motif and more as a sculptural focal point in its own right.

The taller form makes it particularly suited to spaces where vertical interest matters — sideboards, console tables, larger shelves, mantelpieces, or as part of a layered tablescape alongside plants and natural materials. It works in cottagecore and woodland-themed interiors as expected, but holds its own equally well in more pared-back contemporary spaces, where it serves as the singular natural element in an otherwise spare composition.

Hand-carved by Indonesian artisans. Small variations in finish, grain, and base form are part of what you receive.

Sacred Tool Care

To keep your spiritual tools in optimal condition, cleanse crystals regularly using running water (avoid for water-soluble stones like selenite), salt water soaks, burying in salt or earth, or smudging with sage or palo santo smoke. Condition leather items occasionally with natural leather cream to prevent cracking, and store away from direct sunlight and moisture. Clean singing bowls with a soft cloth or mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals, and store on padded surfaces to protect their resonance. Handle all your sacred tools with care and respect to maintain their quality and spiritual effectiveness.
